- Using 2 quart sauce pan, combine 3 cups water and ½ tsp salt. Bring to a boil.
- Slowly pour in one cup of grits, constantly stirring to keep smooth for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
- For creamier grits add more water. For thicker grits, reduce water. Makes 3 to 4 servings.
Option: Use 1 ½ cups regular or non-fat half and half and 1 ½ cups of water
